Meet Our Team

Emma

Certified Animal Behaviourist | Agility enthusiast | Labrador lover

Hi, I’m Emma, lead behaviourist and chief instructor behind Harmony Professional Dog Training and I couldn’t do it without a team of supportive faces around me as you can’t run a small business alone. From scent work, treiball and hoopers specialists, to admin support and other behaviourists I can only do what I do because I’m part of a great team.

I love what I do!

We are all different and so are our dogs!  I see every dog – human relationship as unique and I like to bring harmony to the relationship between dogs and their humans.  For me there is a real joy in seeing how everyone can relax and enjoy life together with the right skills, knowledge and understanding.

My real hope, in the work that I do, is that my human customers feel a shift towards greater self-awareness and compassion in themselves.  This is the real gift our dogs give us.  It is not so much that our dogs ‘bring’ us joy; it is that through our relationship with them we are better able to relate to ourselves and other humans & non-humans alike.   It is through seeing the effect of feelings of safety, empowerment, positive regard, and consistent boundaries on our dogs that we are able to see the importance of these things for ourselves and for our wider relationships.  Have any of you felt these gifts from your dog?

I’m good at what I do.

I’m  a provisional clinical animal behaviourist member of The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors as well as a Certified Animal Behaviourist as well as a Certified Animal Trainer with INTODogs and the International Companion Animal Network as well as an Agility Club Approved Instructor for dog agility.

“Emma has the magic touch. It is amazing to watch other dogs interact with her. Pipo, my chihuahua, made great progress”

Labradors, collies, campervans and more

Lawrence the lab is a grade 6 in Kennel Club agility.  He is full of energy and loves all things dog training.  Annie the ‘pocket rocket’ collie is phenomenal at all she does, and despite being nervous of new people in the beginning is now an alll round pretty confident dogs.     When I’m not enjoying long walks with the dogs I love travelling and the convenience of campervan life is FANTASTIC!   Apart from dogs I also have a fascinating red footed tortoise.

Alison

Admin Assistant

I help Emma and Mallory with the admin side of things, from setting up the courses and appointments to contacting clients with details of what they need to bring when they first start training and dealing with any queries they may have. I also enjoy helping at The Paddock when needed.

I love dogs and had two very lively Dobermanns quite a few years ago, so I understand the importance of training a dog right from day one.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. To relax, I knit, swim, and dabble in photography. I also love reading and belong to a book club.
