Meet Our Team

Emma

Certified Animal Behaviourist | Agility enthusiast | Labrador lover

Hi, I’m Emma, lead behaviourist and chief instructor behind Harmony Professional Dog Training and I couldn’t do it without a team of supportive faces around me as you can’t run a small business alone. From scent work, treiball and hoopers specialists, to admin support and other behaviourists I can only do what I do because I’m part of a great team.

I love what I do!

We are all different and so are our dogs!  I see every dog – human relationship as unique and I like to bring harmony to the relationship between dogs and their humans.  For me there is a real joy in seeing how everyone can relax and enjoy life together with the right skills, knowledge and understanding.

My real hope, in the work that I do, is that my human customers feel a shift towards greater self-awareness and compassion in themselves.  This is the real gift our dogs give us.  It is not so much that our dogs ‘bring’ us joy; it is that through our relationship with them we are better able to relate to ourselves and other humans & non-humans alike.   It is through seeing the effect of feelings of safety, empowerment, positive regard, and consistent boundaries on our dogs that we are able to see the importance of these things for ourselves and for our wider relationships.  Have any of you felt these gifts from your dog?

Labradors, campervans and more

Brandon the black lab is well-known to my clients for his calm unflappable nature and his skills with other dogs and humans too.  Lawrence the Lab is more high maintenance, full of energy and loves all things dog-training including agility.  When I’m not enjoying long walks with the dogs I love travelling and the convenience of campervan life is FANTASTIC!

Aside from ‘all things dog’ I enjoy painting, drawing, and playing piano.

Mallory

Dog Trainer and Treibball and Scentwork teacher

I have training dogs professionally for over 4 years. It came about when I took my nervous terrier to an instructor and realised how happy it made my dog, as well as myself to spend quality time and enjoy each other away from a chaotic life. This led me to retrain and become an instructor to pass this passion on to others, so they could experience that special bond with their dogs.

The first sport I trained in was Treibball and have been teaching this for 2 years, introducing handlers and their canine companions to the world of distance handling and teamwork. I’m also a member of NATE (National Association of Treibball Enthusiasts), keeping up to date with the latest rules and changes to the game.

I self-taught my assistance dog to help me when pain strikes and to recognise when medication is needed. Along the way, I have successfully helped others to self-train their assistance dogs and these dogs have now become loyal and faithful helpers to their owners, both inside and outside the home. I have become very skilled at being able to adjust training tasks, so no matter what your disability is, I work with you to adapt and make it suitable for you.

Most recently I have become a Qualified WSDA (World Scent Dog Association) Blue Level Instructor and level 1 Judge and will be holding workshops for others to utilise their dogs’ favourite pastime – using their noses!

Alison

Admin Assistant

I help Emma and Mallory with the admin side of things, from setting up the courses and appointments to contacting clients with details of what they need to bring when they first start training and dealing with any queries they may have. I also enjoy helping at The Paddock when needed.

I love dogs and had two very lively Dobermanns quite a few years ago, so I understand the importance of training a dog right from day one.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. To relax, I knit, swim, and dabble in photography. I also love reading and belong to a book club.
